Community Outreach
Engineers Without Borders
Engineers Without Borders is a nonprofit humanitarian organization established to support community-driven development programs that implement sustainable engineering projects worldwide. William Halbert, Principal of Insight Geologic, has provided his professional geotechnical and hydrogeologic engineering expertise to assist in the design and development of a water supply system for the community of Arombe, Kenya in 2011 to 2013.
Camp Quixote
Camp Quixote is a self-governed community of the homeless founded in 2007. Insight Geologic is proving pro bono geotechnical services to Quixote, in collaboration with the architecture firms KMB Design and MSGS, to create a permanent village for Thurston County’s homeless. The Quixote Village vision includes a community center with shared kitchen, restroom and laundry facilities, approximately 24 one-room cottages, and community gardens.
